Hands on Art

I love Creating!

I am in my prime when I work with my hands. It is my norm to have projects on the go in baskets stacked in every nook and cranny. Some will get finished and others are simply fuel for future ideas.

Art is my Passion

Even a morning coffee outside gets my wheels turning. I look at the forest that surrounds my home and watch how the trees move in the breeze, recording the colors and textures. It entrances me to imagine my next piece of art. its always a wonderful pace to hang out in.

Learn everything

Being an artist means you have ” A bag of tricks”. When creating, you can pull techniques out of your bag and implement them into a medium they were not meant for. this is the magic of art.

To be honest, I seriously spend my days creating art. Or day dreaming of how to execute a project. Taking every idea in I dive into mediums I have never used before. This is because I was raised by two incredible artists, My parents. They encouraged me to dive in and explore.

Living in the Bessette House was like boarding at an Art school. Every day we learned new techniques and got our hands dirty experimenting. We spent a lot of time at the Vancouver art gallery, Learning about the featured artists and studying the exhibition. I am so blessed to have been exposed to so much, so quickly. Not much was unattainable with great amount of equipment at my disposal as well as many “family friend” master artists that I could learn from.

At 16 years of age I sold my first serious painting. Leading me down a rabbit hole of abstract experimentation. For a decade I lived and breathed painting. My path has always been Art and I can not imagine doing anything else. Thank you for being here with me, Enjoy the ride.

Meet

Rebecca Bessette

I was born and raised in White Rock B.C. Moved my way through the Fraser valley and settled in the rain forests of Hope B.C.

Currently I call this Gorgeous landscape, Home. When I am not making art, I love to garden and keep many house plants. Animals are my weakness, having a sweet spot in my heart for dogs that need a home.
