Rebecca Bessette Biography
I was born and raised in White Rock B.C, Canada. Currently I
reside in the Rain forests of Hope B.C. My parents are both
artists and they kept my overactive imagination and need for
knowledge filled by taking me to see accomplished artists at
work. I learnt a lot of techniques and tricks of the trade. Most
of them were family and friends and they encouraged me to get my
hands into whatever they were working on. Eventually I found my
Love for Paint.
I paint full time and can’t
see myself doing anything else. It’s a relationship between me,
the canvas and paint, an explosion of thought, emotion and
imagery. Like a dream, I can see where it wants me to go and
other times I am unaware of what the end result will be. The
only thing I am sure of is: it comes from my spirit. Paint
allows me to reach deep inside and pour myself onto the canvas
at a rapid speed, exposing things I cannot express in any other
way. When I paint my conscious thought is turned off, and in a
way I meditate. This is what I love about painting the most.
Those who own one of my paintings have a piece of this
experience in their possession.

Statement
"For many years now painting has been my whole being. I have left no
clothing unscathed, no walls or flooring has been deemed worthy enough
to escape my wrath. With brush in hand I am sedated into a world of
dream-like thought and imagery. When painting I feel energy in the
making, in its raw and purest form. I am drawn into the colors and how
they interact to create something wonderful.
What inspires me is emotion, true nature, human interaction, the sound
of the right song, a look from a loved one, a really profound memory, a
child’s hands and many little things we see and pass by everyday.
I strive to convey the whole essence of simple essentials, and to help
you create a space where you can drop through all of the day’s realness
and into a spot where you can breathe light."
